What Scale Do I Use to Weigh My Meat Rabbits?

Well, itโ€™s from Amazon, of course. But that doesnโ€™t make it less great!

Digital meat rabbit scale
This digital scale is available on Amazon. It is ideal for weighing small animals like meat rabbits.

This scale is specifically designed for weighing small to medium animals up to 44 pounds.

I like it because:

  • It is lightweight and can move in and out to where I need it.
  • It has the capacity to weigh any meat rabbit
  • It offers weights in a variety of units, including pounds, pounds, and ounces, or grams
  • There is a feature that tells you if the animal is moving too much for an accurate weight (a paw symbol flashes)
  • You can tare and zero the scale, so if you are wrapping the rabbit in a towel, for example, or if you are putting something non-skid on the tray, you can zero it out to account for that and get a true weight
  • It is solid plastic and can be easily cleaned and disinfected
  • It is reasonably priced (under $50 US)
  • It has lasted for four years without issue

I do bring the scale indoors for the winter because (as weโ€™ve seen in some weigh in day videos) the cold can drain battery life.

You can buy the same scale that I have here: digital small animal meat rabbit scale
