What Kind Of Cages Do You Use For Your Meat Rabbits?

Modified: Feb 20, 2025 by Mary Ward ยท This post may contain affiliate links ยท Leave a Comment

I have two types of cages in my rabbit barn.

30x30 Dumor stacking cage
This is a stackable 30x30 cage with a frame kit and dropping pan manufactured by Dumor.

Most of my cages are Dumor cages from Tractor Supply Company. They are the most affordable cage option, and although they often get a bad rap, I have cages that have been in use for five years. They are stackable and have pull-out drop trays for cleaning.

I have noted some quality control issues in the last couple of years that are worth knowing about before you decide on buying.

30x36 Pet Lodge cages made by Miller Manufacturing
These are 36x30 stacking cages with frame kits and dropping pans made by Pet Lodge/Miller Manufacturing.

The other cages I have are from Pet Lodge, made by Miller Manufacturing. They are a more mid-range cage lending some good affordability. There are some things I donโ€™t love about the cages (mostly the height of the cage). So far, they are showing to be a good option. Iโ€™ve decided to try them based on some of the quality issues Iโ€™ve recently experienced with the Dumor cages.

There is a full cage review with more information here, as well as the video linked below.
